Zvenyhorodka is a city in central Ukraine, located on the Hnylyi Tikych River. First mentioned in 1394, it has roots in Kievan Rus' and experienced periods under Lithuanian and Polish rule. The city gained Magdeburg rights in 1792 before being annexed by Russia in 1793.
