Zambia

Zambia's history is deeply rooted in the movements of diverse peoples, beginning with early Khoisan inhabitants. The Bantu expansion in the thirteenth century significantly shaped the region's cultural landscape, leading to the establishment of kingdoms like the Lunda and Barotsi. European exploration began in the eighteenth century, culminating in British colonization and the creation of protectorates. Northern Rhodesia, as it was then known, gained independence on October 24, 1964, becoming the Republic of Zambia within the Commonwealth. The nation continues to navigate its path as a sovereign state in Southern Africa.
