Anhalt-Köthen

Anhalt-Köthen was a principality of the Holy Roman Empire governed by the House of Ascania. It underwent several partitions and was eventually elevated to a duchy before the line became extinct. The territory is historically significant as a residence of Johann Sebastian Bach.
