Summary
The Aq Qoyunlu was a Sunni Turkoman tribal confederation that ruled over parts of modern-day Turkey, Iran, and surrounding regions. The state became increasingly culturally Persianate during its expansion. It reached its peak under the leadership of Uzun Hasan.
