Aztec Empire

The Aztec Empire was a powerful alliance of three Nahua city-states centered in the Valley of Mexico. It dominated the region from the early 15th century until the Spanish conquest in the early 16th century. The empire was governed primarily from its capital, Tenochtitlan.
