British Solomon Islands

The British Solomon Islands Protectorate was established in 1893 to formalize British influence in the region. It encompassed various island groups in the South Pacific that were previously subject to competing colonial claims. The territory eventually transitioned toward independence as the modern nation of Solomon Islands.
