Communist-controlled China (1927–1949)

This term refers to the various revolutionary base areas established by the Chinese Communist Party during the civil war period. These territories functioned as autonomous zones outside the control of the central Nationalist government. The regions were consolidated into the People's Republic of China following the final military victory.
