Delhi Sultanate

The Delhi Sultanate was a medieval empire centered in the city of Delhi, ruling large parts of the Indian subcontinent from the early 13th to the mid-16th century. It originated from the Ghurid conquests and was governed by successive dynasties such as the Mamluk, Khalji, Tughlaq, Sayyid, and Lodi. The sultanate's legacy includes the spread of Islam, architectural monuments, and administrative practices that shaped later Indian states.
