Summary
Denmark–Norway was a dual monarchy that existed from the 16th to the early 19th century, uniting the kingdoms of Denmark and Norway under a single crown. The union also encompassed Norway's overseas possessions, including the Faroe Islands, Iceland, and Greenland, as well as the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein. It maintained colonies in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean before dissolving in 1814.
