Summary
Dewas State was a Maratha-ruled princely territory in central India during the British Raj, split into Dewas Junior and Dewas Senior. The two branches were founded by brothers Jivaji Rao and Tukoji Rao Puar in the early 18th century. In 1818 the states became British protectorates, later integrated into modern India.
