Dominion of Fiji

The Dominion of Fiji existed as an independent Commonwealth realm from 1970 until 1987, with Queen Elizabeth II as head of state. It succeeded the British Colony of Fiji and maintained parliamentary institutions modeled on the British system. The 1987 military coups led to the proclamation of a republic and the removal of the monarchy.
