Summary
The Dominion of Pakistan was a federal dominion within the British Commonwealth from 1947 to 1956. It comprised the territories allocated to Pakistan after the Partition of British India, including West Pakistan and East Pakistan. In 1956 the dominion was replaced by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and its eastern part later became Bangladesh.
