Grand Duchy of Baden

The Grand Duchy of Baden was a sovereign state located on the eastern bank of the Rhine. It emerged following the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire and later became a constituent part of the German Empire. The territory played a significant role in the development of democratic movements in nineteenth-century Germany.
