Hesse-Homburg

Hesse-Homburg was a small sovereign state within the Holy Roman Empire and later the German Confederation. It originated as a partition of Hesse-Darmstadt and existed intermittently until the mid‑19th century. After the ruling line died out, the territory was annexed by Prussia.
