Summary
The Ilkhanate was a Mongol khanate established in the southwestern territories of the Mongol Empire. It was ruled by the descendants of Hulagu Khan and encompassed vast regions of West and Central Asia. The state eventually disintegrated following the death of its last ruler in the fourteenth century.
