Summary
KwaZulu was a Bantustan created by the apartheid regime in South Africa for the Zulu people. Its capital shifted from Nongoma to Ulundi in 1980, led by Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi. Despite rejecting full independence, KwaZulu was merged into the KwaZulu-Natal province after the end of apartheid.
