Lower Canada

Lower Canada was a British colony established in 1791 along the Saint Lawrence River, encompassing parts of modern Quebec and Labrador. It emerged from the partition of the Province of Quebec following the Constitutional Act of 1791, retaining French law and institutions. The colony was dissolved in 1841 with the creation of the Province of Canada.
