Summary
The Memel Territory, defined by the 1919 Treaty of Versailles, was the northern part of East Prussia under Entente administration. It was intended to be under League of Nations control until a plebiscite determined its future. Today, it's part of Lithuania, within Klaipėda and Tauragė counties.
