Summary
Mengjiang was a puppet state established by Japan in 1939 within Inner Mongolia. It initially formed as an autonomous zone under the Wang Jingwei regime and included the provinces of Chahar and Suiyuan. The capital was Kalgan, ruled by Demchugdongrub, before reverting to Chinese control in 1945.
