Summary

The Mughan Soviet Republic was a short-lived pro-Bolshevik state established in southeastern Azerbaijan. It existed briefly from March to June 1919 during the turbulent period following the collapse of the Russian Empire. The entity was eventually dissolved when the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic regained control of the Mugan plain.
