Summary
Nagashima was a series of fortified positions controlled by the Ikkō-ikki warrior monks during the Sengoku period. The site was famously destroyed by Oda Nobunaga in 1574 following a series of brutal sieges. Today, the location is marked by a memorial stupa near a junior high school.
