Summary
The Nieuwe Republiek was a short-lived Boer republic that existed from 1884 to 1888 in present-day South Africa. Founded by Lucas Johannes Meyer, it was established on land granted by the Zulu King Dinizulu. The state was eventually incorporated into the South African Republic.
