Summary
The North Caucasian Emirate was a short-lived Islamic state established during the Russian Civil War between 1919 and 1920. Led by Imam Uzun-Hajji, it encompassed parts of Chechnya, Dagestan, and Ingushetia with its capital in the village of Vedeno. The state sought independence under the protection of the Ottoman Empire before being absorbed into the Soviet system.
