Ostmark (Austria)

Ostmark was a medieval frontier march established to protect the eastern borders of the Holy Roman Empire. The term was later revived by the Nazi regime between 1938 and 1942 to designate Austria after the Anschluss. It served as a significant administrative and political designation in Central Europe.
