Ottoman Syria

Ottoman Syria was a historiographical term for the Levant provinces controlled by the Ottoman Empire after the conquest from the Mamluks. It encompassed a vast region stretching from the Taurus Mountains to the Arabian Desert. The territory was organized into various eyalets, including Damascus.
