Summary
Pataudi State was a small princely state in northern India, established in 1804 by the British East India Company after Nawab Faiz Talab Khan assisted them against the Marathas. The state comprised the town of Pataudi and 40 villages, covering 52 square miles, and was ruled by the Pataudi Nawab family of Afghan Pashtun origin. Following Indian independence, Pataudi acceded to the Dominion of India in 1948 and its royal titles were abolished in 1971.
