Pays de Léon

The Viscounty of Léon was a feudal domain in extreme western Brittany during the High Middle Ages. Though nominally a vassal of the Duke of Brittany, it operated independently until Henry II of England intervened. Its viscounts held unique rights such as wreckage monopoly and autonomous legal privileges.
