Northern Powys, also known as Powys Fadog, was a medieval Welsh kingdom formed after the dissolution of the Kingdom of Powys in 1160. Its rulers maintained their royal seat at the fortress of Castell Dinas BrĂ¢n. The region was a significant center of religious life, anchored by Valle Crucis Abbey.
