Summary
The Principality of Antioch was a Crusader state established during the First Crusade in parts of Anatolia and Syria. Founded in 1098 after a difficult siege, it bordered the County of Tripoli and the Byzantine Empire. Norman knights from Southern Italy played a key role in its early governance.
