Principality of Wallachia

Wallachia emerged as a principality around the 13th century, consolidating after Basarab I's victory at Posada in 1330. It maintained autonomy under Ottoman suzerainty for centuries, with rulers like Vlad the Impaler. In 1859, it united with Moldavia, forming the basis for modern Romania.
