Summary
The Supreme Executive Power governed Mexico between the fall of the First Mexican Empire in 1823 and the election of Guadalupe Victoria in 1824. It oversaw the transition from monarchy to republic, abolishing nobility and changing national symbols. Iturbide, the former emperor, was exiled and later executed after attempting to return.
