The Republic of Alto Monferrato was a short-lived partisan state in Italy, existing from September to December 2, 1944. It arose from the union of resistance movements in Nizza Monferrato and Costigliole d'Asti, within the Montferrat region. The republic was suppressed by a Nazi German operation, resulting in numerous captures and executions.
