Summary
The Republic of Crema was a short-lived revolutionary municipality established in Lombardy in 1797 after French occupation. It governed the city of Crema and surrounding territories previously under Venetian rule for over three centuries. The republic was incorporated into the Cisalpine Republic in July 1797, following the Treaty of Campo Formio.
