Summary
The Republic of Mulhouse was a Protestant associate of the Old Swiss Confederation, located in present-day eastern France. It gained autonomy in 1395, severing ties with Alsace and aligning with the Swiss confederates after the Six-Pence War. The city's government was seated at the Hôtel de Ville, and it ceased to exist after being annexed by France in 1798.
