Rhodesia

Rhodesia existed as an unrecognised state in Southern Africa from 1965 to 1979, following a unilateral declaration of independence from the UK. It was initially a de facto successor to Southern Rhodesia, later becoming a republic in 1970. The Rhodesian Bush War and international pressure led to its transition to Zimbabwe in 1980.
