Summary
The Second Hellenic Republic existed between 1924 and 1935, succeeding the monarchy after the Asia Minor Disaster. It bordered Albania, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Turkey, and the Italian Aegean Islands. The republic was abolished in 1935, leading to the 4th of August Regime under Ioannis Metaxas.
