Summary
The Sendai Domain, also known as the Date Domain, existed during the Edo period (1600-1871) under the Tokugawa Shogunate. It was based at Aoba Castle in Mutsu Province, now part of Sendai city. Ruled by the Date clan, it was one of the largest domains in Japan, covering parts of Miyagi, Iwate, and Fukushima Prefectures.
