Summary
The Shamkhalate of Tarki was a Kumyk state situated in the eastern North Caucasus. Its capital was the ancient town of Tarki, located in the territory of modern-day Dagestan. The state was formally annexed by the Russian Empire following the Treaty of Gulistan in 1813.
