Summary
Spanish West Africa was an administrative grouping of Spanish colonies along the Atlantic coast of northwest Africa. Established in 1946, it unified the southern zone of the Spanish protectorate in Morocco with Ifni, Saguia el-Hamra, and Río de Oro. It served as a key colonial entity until decolonization.
