Summary
The Sultanate of Egypt was a British protectorate established in 1914 following the removal of Khedive Abbas II. It marked the formal end of Ottoman suzerainty over Egypt and saw the reign of Sultans Hussein Kamel and Fuad I. The protectorate was dissolved in 1922 upon the declaration of independence.
