Tanganyika (1961–1964)

Tanganyika was a short-lived sovereign state that existed from 1961 to 1964 following independence from the United Kingdom. It was initially a Commonwealth realm under Queen Elizabeth II before transitioning into a republic led by Julius Nyerere. In 1964, it united with Zanzibar to form Tanzania.
