Summary
The Transnistria Governorate was a Romanian-administered territory established during World War II between the Dniester and Southern Bug rivers. It was created after the Axis invasion of the Soviet Union and functioned as a civilian administration under Ion Antonescu. The region included the port city of Odesa, which served as its administrative capital until the Romanian withdrawal in 1944.
