Union between Sweden and Norway

The United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway existed as a personal union under a common monarch from 1814 until 1905. While sharing a foreign policy and king, both states maintained separate constitutions, legislatures, and armed forces. The union was peacefully dissolved following a Norwegian declaration of independence.
