United States of Colombia

The United States of Colombia was a federal state established in 1863 by the Rionegro Constitution following a period of civil war. It granted significant autonomy to its nine sovereign states and was characterized by liberal economic and social reforms. The federal system was abolished in 1886 when the country transitioned into a centralized republic.
