Summary
Upingtonia was a short-lived Boer republic established in 1885 in present-day Namibia, with its capital at Grootfontein. It was founded by settlers led by William Worthington Jordan and later renamed Lijdensrust. The republic collapsed in 1887 and was incorporated into German South-West Africa.
