Brandenburg

Brandenburg is a state in northeastern Germany surrounding the national capital Berlin. It originated in the 10th century as the Northern March and later became a core territory of the Kingdom of Prussia. Today, it serves as a major administrative and cultural region within the Federal Republic of Germany.
