General Alvear Department, Mendoza

General Alvear is a department located in the southeastern part of the Mendoza Province in Argentina. The region is named after General Carlos María de Alvear, a hero of the Argentine War of Independence. Its landscape is defined by agricultural lands irrigated by the Diamante and Atuel rivers.
