Summary
Lesnoy is a closed town in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, situated on the banks of the Tura River. Founded in 1947, it was initially established to produce highly enriched uranium for nuclear weapons. The town remained secret until 1992, when it was allowed to revert to its historical name.
