Summary
Meijel is a village located in the south-eastern Netherlands, historically a free heerlijkheid. It first appeared in records in 1303, developing on a sandy ridge within the Peel bog. The village was part of Austrian Upper Guelders in 1716 and merged into Peel en Maas in 2010.
