Summary

Monagas is one of the 23 states of Venezuela, located in the northeastern part of the country with its capital in Maturín. The region is named after the brothers José Tadeo and José Gregorio Monagas, both of whom served as presidents of Venezuela. Its history is deeply rooted in indigenous cultures, including the Warao and Chaima peoples, and early colonial settlements.
